The Dodge Dart is known to be the affordable compact car of the modern age, just as it was in the 60′s, but back then it wasn’t so small.  Well, the guys at Chrysler Group LLC have brought to the table the all new Dodge Dart; now that all 3 of the US automakers we believe its time for our comparison test…

What we liked about the car.
If you get the fully featured Dodge Dart SXT Multiair Turbo with the Uconnect and the TFT display your going to enjoy premium sound, electronics, interior an smooth automatic and or manual transmission, heated seats, sirusXM radio, Wifi  comfort, fastest car out of the three and the roominess in the vehicle was impressive. MPG was 43 MPG Highway, 36 City- Give or Take and the smoothest quietest ride out of the 3.

What we didn’t like about the car.
There wasnt anything wrong with the Dodge Dart we drove, however my only complaint was the trim levels being so many, and each one has its own unique combination, as you know there is the base, sxt, sxt turbo, rallye, rallye turbo, R/T, GT,  and SRT4?  Our Complainant isn’t really anything against the automaker it just gets a little confusing with all the trim levels and the flip flopped features available for this awesome little car. but in the end the best value out of the three.

It would be cool to see a Turbo Diesel Dodge Dart.

The Chevy Cruze, this car isn’t all that bad kudos to GM for showing us they still have a brain.
The car design is really nice, not as nice as the Dodge Dart, but as a successor of the cavalier, this car has truly come up.
The car is feature rich, not as great features as the Dodge Dart, but it offers better than Ford.

What we liked about the car:
SirusXM, Hands-free Calling, iPhone and USB support in the center console, auto-stick, traction control.
Chevy Claims 42 MPG, its like 36 MPG all around, which isn’t bad at all for a little 4 banger and finally a smooth ride.

What we didn’t like about the car:
Not enough room! more room than the Ford Focus but overall small, and when you accelerate it jumps every-time.

GM give us more room, and loose the cheesy radio then we will  see your placement elsewhere.

Finally in the Dodge Dart Comparison

The Focus has been around forever, the car has in almost every release gone through some changes, some way some how. Unfortunately this car comes in last out of the three. This is still a great car in its class however the “revisions” of this car makes us think Ford doesn’t truly know what they want with the Focus.

The focus is fun to drive, it is comfortable, but its just slow, not as slow as the 2013 Honda Civic, but it is slow out of the three coming off the lot.

What we liked about the car:
The Sporty Look, reminds us of a rally car, the interior is almost even with the Cruze but not better than the Dodge Dart. Hands Free Calling, and Heated Seats, etc.

What we didn’t like about the car:
The Space inside the  car, how Ford stopped the SEL, Road Noise after 35MPH, the weird Auto/Manny configuration.  Self Parking? this feature isn’t what ford claims, if they are going to sell it in the Focus it should be FREE.

Overall not a bad car, ford needs to figure out what exactly they want the focus to be and have in it.

As you can see with our experience with the big threes cars Dodge takes the win.

Value, Comfort, and the Dart was the funnest car to drive.

Rallye Edition Dodge Dart

We had the opportunity to test drive the 2013 2.0 SXT Dodge Dart at Crystal Chrysler Jeep Dodge in Inverness Florida this week.

As you may or may not know this is the rebirth of the compact car for dodge that’s fuel efficient and competitively priced. Our model was priced at 17,995.

We met at Crystal Automotive with Marc Esser a certified (on many levels) Chrysler sales & leasing consultant. An to our experience a down to earth brand enthusiast like all of us here at livnloud.com .

SXT Dodge Dart Interior

So Marc pulls the white dodge dart around and we hopped in. To the surprise the car is very, very spacious and the seating was very comfortable by far attention to detail was superior.

Dodge Dart SXT 2.0 VVT

When we took off with the 2.0L VVT SXT Dodge Dart, the engine did not fail to surprise us, this is a compact car / mini rocket-ship; we went from 0-60 within seconds, not in a blistering 2.5 sec like a SRT4, but it was indeed fast and comfortable that’s what really matters in today’s market, right? . Marc like we said before is a very knowledgeable about Chrysler products, he showed use a trick with the new technology in the auto-stick transmission that will make this dart fly when you want it to. but unfortunately we forgot the trick maybe the guys @DodgeDartz could assist us in the near future in tips and tricks with the dodge darts. In the mean time you could google it and/or you can go see Marc to purchase a Dart and I’m pretty sure if you ask him to teach you some cool dart tricks he will.

Anyhow the car handles good, and yes, very euro-like and yes its a compliment. If your on the run, this car will hug the ground.

I’m very impressed the commercial Dodge puts out for the 2013 Dodge Dart is justified. (Click here to See the Videos we are talking about)

Chrysler has done it again, RAM (Dodge) trucks introduced tho their first V6 pentastar truck awhile back when the SRT viper was revealed. This bad boy is expected to priced at $23,585, and the big boy Larmie Longhorn which will be priced at $48,415; that’s not to bad considering Chrysler Group has returned to their roots of heritage, comfort, and quality. All Chrysler Products have a five-year/100,000 mile plan that’s fully transferable from one owner to the next.

Ram is going to be very competitive in the V6 truck line up against Ford and Chevy. Offering 18 mpg in city limits and 25 mpg on the highway, thanks to its 3.6 liter Pentastar V6 engine mated to an 8 speed automatic transmission. 2013 Ram 1500 is also lighter and more aerodynamic, which also helps in keeping fuel efficiency competitive. Power is enhanced by 42% and now stands at 305 hp while torque is up by 13% to offer 269 lb/ft and last but by no means least fuel efficiency is enhanced by 20% as compared to the earlier model, 3.7L V6.

On that note the 2013 v6 ram is getting a tech overhaul with an all new U connect. Which in reality the U connect is basically a computer, in the video below showcases the features of the new Uconnect.

High Octane Saloon Holds 1st Annual Showdown Car Show & Bass Competition .

Early Saturday morning we made our way out to Homosassa Springs with Google Maps leading us in the wrong direction. For some reason the address listed on Google.com for High Octane Saloon the map leads you to a golf driving range. (See here) Without wasting anymore time with Google, we made a quick phone call to High Octane and the down to earth staff pointed us in the right direction to attend the event.

When we arrived to the event from the distance you could see cars, trucks, suvs, and cycles  at the gate waiting to get in the showdown..

As we looked for parking we seen a couple of Bass Heads lining up to sign up for Dealers Choice Crank IT UP BASS competition.
That couple of people later turned into a dozen or s0 Bass Heads / audio geeks signing up for the Bass Competition.

The competition was set up in the following manner:
Class Identification:

• Number Of Watts
• Number Of Amplifiers
• Number Of Subwoofers

Your term-lab score decided what place you took home.

Unfortunately this bass competition would not give you any points, if that mattered… We believe points didn’t matter to this crowd; everyone was sincerely  having an awesome time talking, hanging out, and seeing what their system could bring to the table. (check out the video below)

The Event Ended with a Bikini Contest, Burnout Contest, and Awards.
